Sending Some Happiness
Fortunate. We are. Very! And, however Yoda-ish that may sound, it is exactly how I felt when my amazing friend, Vasya, a locally adopted teen, shared fond memories of receiving his very own coveted Christmas box each year, while living in one of the many Ukranian orphanages. He said it was like "sending happiness." Wow! Preparing a Christmas box suddenly became much more personal. Someone really IS on the other end waiting with delightful anticipation. Samaritans's Purse's Operation Christmas Child reaches many children all across the world each Christmas with these happiness boxes. It really is incredible that we get to be a part of that joy....don't you think?

Carol, this is such a wonderful ministry! How can I find out if there's a local group sponsoring it? We used to do something similar in college called Project Angel Tree. I would love for my kids to be involved in something like this!
Hi Adrienne! You can call 1-800-353-5949 or visit www. samaritanspurse.org/occ. The collection date has just passed, but I would think you could still try to participate.
that's wonderful that you know someone who actually got one! love the photo, too - beautiful. :) Trudy
Yeah, it really made an impact on me to hear his testimony of how he looked forward to them...one of his favorite items were hotwheels...isn't that sweet!
Great idea Carol, we've done this before, thanks for reminder that we should do it again!
Just never knew it really mattered that much...so glad you are participating too!
Carol Jean, thanks for reminding us that what we often take for granted can be a life changing experience for others. Johnny
Your welcome, JR! :)
